Tit for Tat is not justified and Bhagwad Gita mentions to just focus on your Dharma, not the outcome that may happen because of your Actions.
So let’s say an animal enters your house and kills your child. You can use weapons to protect your child, that is your Dharma. But if you fail to protect your child, you do not automatically get the right to kill the animal’s children.
That is not your Dharma. Your Dharma is to protect your children but you cannot go out of your boundary and kill someone else’s children just to protect yours. And even if your child was killed, you do not have the right to kill the animal’s children for revenge.
Bhagvata Gita, Chapter 2, Verse 38
sukha-duhkhe samay kritva labhalabhau jayajayau
tato yuddhaya yujyasvanaivam papam avapsyasi
Sukh dukh, labh hani, Jay parajay se upar utho Parth. Tumhara dharm pap ka vinas hai, yeh mat socho ki tum apne sambandhiyo ki mrityu ka karan ban rahe ho. Tum to sirf apna kartavya kar rahe ho, jo tumhara Khastriya dharma hai.
Rise above love/hate, rise above win/loss and follow you dharma.
